UNVEILED: The Hunger Games nail polish collection, “Colors From the Capitol”
Ok so first post first look. This is a lot more than I usually wear, but lately I’m thinking New Year’s Eve looks.
The first things I ALWAYS do when applying my makeup are
1) Tinted moisturizer mixed with a little bit of moisturizing cream. Double the moisturizing power and it tones down the tinting. I always get my face and neck blending to the chest and out from the cheeks. Then I set the inner and outer corner of my eyes with light concealer, as well as the outer edges of the nose and corners of the lips
2) Light foundation throughout and lightly brush on shimmer all over the face and lightly on the neck. I usually use the same brush for both of these, and switch to a wider brush for the throat/neck (if you brush some shimmer in a T on your cleavage it really emphasizes as well!) Then apply light blush in the apples of your cheeks. Heavier for more emphasis but no clown makeup please!
3) Next I brushed a little highlighter in the inner corners of the eyes and underneath my brows as well as lightly on the bridge of the nose
4) The eyes are my favorite part! I used E.L.F colors for this one. I always apply a base/primer from my sonia kashuk neutral pallet. It helps keep the color on. I decided to do a smoky eye. I started with a very light and subtle grey all over the lid up to the brow bone. Then a darker, steely blue/grey all over the lid, and smudged out just the tiniest bit. On the crease I went with a dark, matte navy blue for a departure from the standard all grey black smoky eye. I really wish I had a navy eye pencil, but alas. I used black instead! I did all around black kohl keeping it thinner on the upper lids and exaggerating it into a small cat eye. On the bottom, I went a little bit thicker, but kept it just on my lash line instead of the inner rim. The inside corners are important too for that cat eye effect! I then went back over with blue powder eyeliner, a little darker than the crease shadow. I dusted a tiny bit on the bottom, more toward the inner rim and then did thicker lines on the top. Finally, mascara. I like to wing my mascara outward when I have a cat eye to help accentuate the look. Don’t forget to give a little love to your bottom lashes! and then separate those suckers for a more natural look
5) Finally lips! Red is all in this year! So I did a little bit of chapstick to moisturize, red sonia kashuk lipstick for the kick, and some covergirl gloss for that nice shine
Hope you like it!
